national support for choir church
Choir Church is emerging in new places and in new ways, with fresh impetus from the National Church to resource and grow new congregations built around children and their families.
The Diocese of Blackburn has been running a multi-year successful pilot, which saw new congregations planted in communities including Accrington and Burnley through Richester and Tarleton, right up to Lancaster. You can find out more about the Diocesan initiative here.
The Diocese of Portsmouth is building on pioneering work undertaken between 2018-2020, planting at least four new Choir Church congregations in the initial phase of a multi-year Triennium-funded project, with strong links to Portsmouth Cathedral. The model has been adapted to a number of contexts in which children are newly learning about and coming to the faith.
A number of Dioceses in the Norther Province are exploring Choir Church prayerfully, and we are building a steading network of individual parishes where faith, music, and social justice are coalescing to bring people to Jesus in new ways.
